SAINT MARTINVILLE - Pauline P. Picard, age 83, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 3, 2024, in New Iberia at her residence. Born in St. Martinville to Theresa Theriot Picard and Marceline Picard, Pauline lived a life filled with love, family, and cherished memories.
Pauline was a devoted family woman who found immense joy in caring for her grandchildren and spending quality time with her loved ones. Known for her exceptional cooking skills, she delighted in preparing meals that brought her family together, creating moments of warmth and togetherness. She will be truly and deeply missed by all those who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her son Paul Picard (Vickie); her daughters Cindy Mire (Mercy), Linda Horton, and Tina Picard (Jerry); her sisters Donna Champagne and Rita Baudoin (Austin);her brother, Willis Picard; and her significant other Antoine Sonnier. Pauline also leaves behind eleven grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, all of whom will carry forward her memory.
Pauline was preceded in death by her beloved husband Jean Picard; her son John Picard; her daughter Laura LeBlanc; her parents, Marceline and Theresa Picard; her siblings Roy Picard, Marcel Picard, Clovis Picard, Octavia Bergeron, and Celia Picard; and her great-grandson Wyatt Earnest.
A visitation will be held for Pauline on Thursday, August 8, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 11:00 PM at Evangeline Funeral Home of New Iberia. A rosary will be recited on Thursday at 6:00 PM led by the Men's Rosary Group. Visitation will continue on Friday, August 9, 2024, at 8:00 AM until the time of service. A Mass of Christian Burial will conducted at 10:00 AM at St. Martin De Tours Catholic in St. Martinville
Pauline will be laid to rest in St. Michael's Catholic Cemetery, Cemetery Rd, St. Martinville, Louisiana.
Serving as pallbearers will be her son Paul Picard, Travis LeBlanc, Richard LeBlanc, Jr., Lynn Picard, Alfonso "Poncho" Domínguez, Alfonso "Ponchio" Domínguez, Antoine Sonnier, and Mercy Mire.
Pauline's legacy of love and devotion will be deeply missed by all who knew her. May she rest in peace and her memory be a blessing to those who had the privilege of knowing her.
