

A native of New Iberia and a resident of Youngsville, Mr. Rivette passed away at 2:39 pm on Thursday, September 26, 2013 at his residence.
Mr. Rivette was a volunteer fireman with the Bayou Vista Volunteer Fire Department; he was very active with BYYA serving as a Board Member and coaching for many years. He loved spending time outdoors, hunting, fishing, but his greatest joy was spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Lois Robicheaux Rivette; one son, Blair Rivette; two daughters, Rhoda R. Purvis and husband Ed and Marie R. Buscaino and husband Jim all of Youngsville; six grandchildren, Blair Rivette, Jr., Jayda Savoie, Brandan Gautreaux, Tanner Broussard, Hailee Rivette and Troy Scott; one brother, Dewey LaGrange of New Iberia and two sisters, JoAnn Miller of Franklinton and Helen Gary of New Iberia.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Enola Buteaux Rivette;three brothers, Fulton, Danny and Carroll “Red” Rivette and his in laws, Leeward and Anna Mae Robicheaux and his grandcat, Lovey.
