Rona Robicheaux Lilley

NEW IBERIA – Funeral services will be celebrated for Rona Robicheaux Lilley, age 69, at 10:00 am Tuesday, April 29, 2014 at Church on the Rock. Pastor Ryan DeRouen will officiate. Interment will be held privately at a later date.

A gathering of family and friends will be held at Church on the Rock, 1411 E. Admiral Doyle Drive, New Iberia on Monday from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Visiting will resume at the church on Tuesday from 8:00 am until services.

Rona was born August 5, 1944 in St. Martinville to the late Elfige Robicheaux and Grace Chatagnier Robicheaux and was one of ten children. She passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 27, 2014 at Iberia Medical Center, with her loving family at her side.

Rona was a lifelong seamstress and worked with Abdalla’s until their closing, and then with House of Cache’. She had a love of flowers and gardening, dancing to her favorite country songs, and cooking and baking for her family. Most of all, she was a loving mother who lived for her family. She loved and cared for her son Skipper until his death and missed both he and Dawn. She now goes on to join them. She will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her daughters, Pamela Lilley Boudoin and husband David “Spike” Boudoin, and Jennifer Lilley Franklin and husband Alan Larry Franklin; six grandchildren, Cheyanne Camille, Brody and Brylee Boudoin, and Alan Michael, Amber, and Danica Franklin; and her brothers and sisters, Curtis Robicheaux, Michael Robicheaux, Jenny Hulin, Debbie Usey, Hedy Estillette, Tammy Berard and Jane Martin.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter and son, Dawn Marie Lilley and Phillip Dale “Skipper” Lilley, III; her companion Robert Comb; and a sister and brother, Audrey Rivette and Mark Robicheaux.

Family members will serve as pallbearers.
