Ronald Paul “Ron” Girard, a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, nephew, cousin, and friend, passed away peacefully at his residence on November 30, 2025, at the age of 64. Born in New Iberia on July 28, 1961, Ron was the beloved son of the late Joseph Paul and Martha Lee Burrell Girard.
A man of exceptional dedication and pride, Ron was the owner and operator of Acadian Fire and Safety for more than 20 years. His work was far more than a career—it was a passion and a calling. He believed deeply in serving his community with integrity, loyalty, and care. Ron’s family extends their heartfelt gratitude to his many loyal customers, whose support meant the world to him and enriched his life in countless ways.
Ron was an avid sports enthusiast and lifelong fan of the Miami Dolphins. His playful rivalry with his son, a dedicated Saints fan, brought laughter and warmth to many family moments. He also had a profound love for animals and the outdoors. Other pastimes of Ron included a love of horses, watching rodeos, and embracing the peacefulness of nature.
Above all, Ron was a family-oriented man whose heart belonged to his children and grandchildren. He cherished every moment spent with them and took immense pride in watching his family grow. His legacy of love, humor, and unwavering devotion will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
Ron will be deeply missed and forever remembered by his family, friends, and all whose lives he touched. May he rest in eternal peace.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his loving children, Derrick Girard (Moneyvonne); Ryan Girard (Courtney) and Ashlee Girard; thirteen grandchildren; one great grandchild; one sister, Rhonda Girard Schultz (Jeffrey); his aunt, Nola Picard; his niece, Kaylee Schultz; his nephew, Brody Landry; and a host of cousins.
Along with his parents he is preceded in death by one son, Joseph Paul Girard, and his aunt, Mary Hebert.
A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, December 4, 2025, at 2:00 pm at Evangeline Funeral Home. Deacon Russell Hayes will officiate.
Inurnment will be held privately at a later date.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Thursday, December 4, 2025, at Evangeline Funeral Home from 10:00 am until time of service.
