Ruth Marie Bartgis Dore, a native of Emmitsburg, Maryland, and longtime resident of New Iberia, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at the Carpenter House in Lafayette. She was 85.
Ruth was born on April 24, 1940, to the late Kenneth Daniel Bartgis and the late Ethel Eyler Bartgis, the only child born to that union.
She is survived by her sons, Ronald J. Dore and Kenneth Lawson, and her beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Preston Joseph Dore’, Sr.; her son, Robert Dewitt Lawson, Jr.; and her daughter, Lisa J. Lawson.
In keeping with Ruth’s wishes, no formal services will be held.
