Ruth Sones Williamson Lowery

NEW IBERIA – Memorial Services will be conducted for Ruth Sones Williamson Lowery, age 94, at 12:00 Noon, Saturday, September 7, 2013 at Evangeline Funeral Home with Pastor Aaron Weido officiating. Inurnment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Columbia, MS privately at a later date.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 am until service time on Saturday.

A native of Baxterville, MS and resident of New Iberia, formerly of Columbia, MS, Mrs. Lowery passed away at 1:35 am on Thursday, September 5, 2013 at Camelot of Broussard.

Mrs. Lowery was a member of Temple Baptist Church. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughter, Nancy W. Whitley of New Iberia; one son, Cliff Williamson and wife Vickie of New Iberia; four grandchildren, Lindsay W. Rivett and husband Ryan; Jared Williamson and wife Crystal; Gregory Scott White and wife Staci and Cindy W. Stuart and husband Odell and eight great grandchildren, Laurie Williamson, Emmeline Williamson, Victoria Ross, Nicole White, Lyndsaye White, Katie White, Christopher Pylant and Callie Dixon.

She was preceded in death by her first husband and father of her children, Jackie Williamson, her second husband, Ed Lowery; one son, Jimmy Williamson and his wife Bobbie; one grandson, Ronnie White; son in law, Charles Whitley; her parents, Luther and Dollie Gipson Sones and two sisters, Beatrice Cardwell and Mattie Thompson.
