Scott Bonin

NEW IBERIA – Funeral services will be conducted for Scott Bonin, age 34, at 11:00 am Saturday, January 17, 2015 at Evangeline Funeral Home. Deacon Thomas will be the celebrant. Interment will follow in Migues Cemetery of Delcambre.

A gathering of family and friends will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 4:00 pm until service time on Saturday. The funeral home will remain open all night.

The rosary will be prayed on Friday at 7:00 pm.

Scott was a native of Kaplan and a resident of New Iberia. He passed away on Friday, January 9, 2015 at 10:15 pm at Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center.

Scott had a love for motorcycles that was shared by his best friend, Ryan Maturin. It has been a long time dream of Scotts to be a member of the LA Riders, who he up too as his brothers. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and shooting pool. Scott loved his daughter, Haili, very much.

Survivors include his daughter, Haili Bonin; fiancée, Elnora Sonnier and her children Jasmine, Jules, and Jasper Sonnier; his mother and step-father, Mary Viator Renard and Bobby Renard; his father, James “Jim” Bonin; his half-sisters, Stacy Langlinais and Erica Dauzat; his grandmother, Dorothy Trahan; his best friend, Ryan Maturin and wife Faith Maturin and; his god-children, Tallon Maturin, Cayton Maturin, and Amya Domingue.

Scott is preceded in death by his grandparents; Ray J. Viator and Gernice and Leonce Bonin; and his fiancées daughter, Jessica Sonnier.

Pallbearers will be members of the LA Riders. Honorary pallbearers will be Haili Bonin, Ryan Maturin, and Jules, Jasmine, and Jasper Sonnier.
