Shirley was born July 29, 1931 in New Iberia to the late Elias Landry and Marie Romero Landry and passed away Tuesday March 5, 2019 at Iberia Medical Center. She was 87.
Shirley was a homemaker who dedicated her life to the love and care of her family. She was known for her generosity and kindness toward those in need. She would often volunteer her time to help care for family members who were ill. Some of Shirley’s pastimes included fishing and cooking. She never passed up the chance to wet a line to catch some fish and enjoyed cooking them even more. Her fish court bullion and gumbo were some of the best around. Shirley leaves a legacy of love and compassion and will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved her.
Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Jerry J. Segura; her children, Douglas Monceaux and wife Dodi, Sylvia Morris and husband Sam and Keith Michael Segura; her grandchildren, Jacob Joseph Monceaux and Jerry Roy Monceaux; and her great grandchildren, Jaci Michelle Monceaux and Lacey Monceaux.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Kellie Michelle Monceaux; and her brothers, Newman Landry and Raymond “T-Boy” Landry.
Serving as pallbearers are Douglas, Jacob and Jerry Monceaux, Billy and Mickel Landry, and Tim Segura.
Evangeline Funeral Home of New Iberia is in charge of arrangements.
