Sky Anthony DuBois

New Iberia – A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Sky Anthony DuBois at 11:00 am on Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at St. Marcellus Catholic Church. Fr. Ed Degeyter will be the Celebrant. Sky will be laid to rest at St. Marcellus Mausoleum in Rynella.

A gathering of family and friends will be held at Evangeline Funeral Home on Tuesday from 2:00 pm until 9:00 pm, with the Men’s Rosary Group leading the Rosary at 7:00 pm. Visiting will resume on Wednesday from 8:00 am until 10:30 am.

Sky Anthony DuBois was born December 28, 1983 in New Iberia to Michael DuBois and Catherine Moore DuBois, and passed away Friday, June 9, 2017 in Toledo Bend.

Sky worked in the oilfield all his life and was working on the North Slope of Alaska for many years. When not working, Sky devoted his love and time to his precious daughters, Londyn and Riley, making memories to last a lifetime. As a true Louisiana outdoorsman, he also took time for hunting and fishing and shared that passion with his family and friends.

Sky was also the person who lit up the room when he walked in. Whether at a party or just hanging out with family or friends, Sky kept you smiling with his pranks and jokes. Above all, he was a proud and loving father who adored his children, and a loving brother and son as well. His smile and loving heart will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved him.

Survivors include his wife, Lacey DuBois; his daughters, Londyn and Riley DuBois; his step-sons, Anthony and Aiden Demuro; his mother and father, Catherine Moore DuBois and Michael John DuBois; his grandmother, LouCinda DuBois; his sisters, Kimberly Gaspard and husband Ryan, and their daughter Olivia Gaspard, and Natalie Faucheaux and husband Brandon, and their children, Eli Faucheaux and Tenley Faucheaux (his Godchild); his GodParents, Karen Latiolais and Robert Dartez; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Joseph DuBois, Sr., and Ellis and Margie Moore; and three of his good friends, Jeremy Maturin, Brock Boudreaux and Chuck Pommier.

Honoring Sky as pallbearers will be Ryan Gaspard, Brandon Faucheaux, Anthony Demuro, Kody Toups, Derek Decuir, David Detweiler, Shane Johnson and Brandon Winmill. Honorary pallbearers are Joel and Avery Vincent, Jessie Kinsey, Jason Dempsey, Parker and Nick DuBois, Steven Chambers and Jay Myers.
