Mrs. Sylvia Magee Magee Delahoussaye

NEW IBERIA – A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted for Mrs. Autrey P. Delahoussaye, the former Sylvia Magee, age 67, at 10:00 am Saturday, March 19, 2011 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. Fr. Jude Thiery will be the celebrant for the services. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 pm until 9:00 pm on Friday with a Rosary at 6:30 pm. The funeral home will reopen at 8:00 am on Saturday until service time.

A native and resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Delahoussaye passed away at 5:25 am on Wednesday, March 16, 2011 at her residence.

Mrs. Delahoussaye was employed as a nurse for sixteen years. She enjoyed traveling shopping and spending time with her family.

Mrs. Delahoussaye is survived by husband of 48 years Autrey P. “Fluff” Delahoussaye of New Iberia; four daughters, Sharon Migues and husband Chris of Jeanerette; Lisa Rennert and husband Paul of Lydia; Sandra Jackson and husband Lyle “Jack” of Waxahachie, TX and Vicki Steinocher and husband Kenny of Lafayette; five grandchildren, Brandon Saintes and fiance’ Kasey Landry; Amber Bonin; Jamie Migues; Jade Jackson; Cody Jackson and granddog Sophie Steinocher. She is also survived by her siblings, Patricia Picard and husband Willie of New Iberia; Darlene Lancon of New Iberia; Frances Miller of Prescott, Arizona and Douglas Magee and fiance’ Alisa Dugan.

She was preceded in death by her father, William Magee and her mother, Helen Bodin Myers.

Pallbearers will be Douglas Magee, Brandon Saintes, Kenny Steinocher, Paul Rennert, Chris Migues and Lyle “Jack” Jackson.
