Born on May 21, 1944, in New Iberia, Verna was the daughter of the late Neville Domingue and Edith Morvant Domingue. She was one of 12 children raised in a family deeply rooted in Cajun heritage and faith, values she carried with her throughout her life.
In her earlier years, Verna dedicated over 24 years of service to Trappey’s and Bruce Foods. However, her greatest joy and pride came from her role as a wife and mother. Her husband of 38 years, Gail, shared that he and Verna were inseparable, only parting ways when he went fishing. Their love was a true testament to a match made in heaven. Verna and her family created many cherished memories together, including trips camping at Lake View in Eunice and the Paragon Casino Resort in Marksville. Although she often tried her luck at the slots, her favorite moments were simply being with loved ones, enjoying their company, and making the best of every adventure.
Verna was also an avid fan of Elvis Presley and the classic country music legends. She had the privilege of visiting Graceland in Memphis and "Twitty City," the home of Conway Twitty. Other stars she loved included Loretta Lynn, George Jones, and Tammy Wynette, whose music filled her heart with joy.
Above all, Verna cherished the time spent with her children, their families, and her beloved furbaby, Tuttie. She lavished them with unconditional love, and her presence in their lives will be sorely missed. While we mourn her passing, we take comfort in the promise of eternal life, knowing that one day we will be reunited with her. Until then, may she rest in peace. We love you, Verna.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 38 years, Gail Falgout; her sons, Tommy J. Romero, Larry J. Romero and wife Tammy, and Sonny P. Romero and wife Nikki; her stepchildren, James Falgout, Gail Falgout, Jr., Jenny Falgout, and Gail Ann Falgout; seven grandchildren, T.J.
