Wayne Nicholas Guillot

A gathering of family and friends will be held at Evangeline Funeral Home on Monday from 9:00 am until time of services.

Wayne was born September 17, 1947 in New Iberia to the late Whitney Guillot and the late Mae Boudreaux Guillot and passed away peacefully Friday, May 19, 2017 at his residence with his family at his side.

Wayne began working years ago alongside his father as a roofer. He would later begin a career with the New Iberia Fire Department that would span over 20 years, serving his community. He then spent a few years working with the city of New Iberia and retired at age 62.

Some of Wayne’s favorite pastimes included hunting and fishing. He will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved him.

Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Colleen Broussard Guillot; his children, Jeffrey Guillot and wife Ronda, Brooke Guillot McGlasson and husband Justin, and Holly Guillot Hebert and husband Dustin; his grandchildren, Kayli Prince and husband Daniel, Dylan Guillot, Kinzy McGlasson and Kaiden McGlasson; his great great grandson, Cael Prince; and his nieces, Monique Khamphilavong and Lynette Lopez.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth Guillot and wife Mammie Romero Guillot; and his nephew, Cory Guillot.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the Staff of Bridgeway Hospice for their compassion and care while caring for Wayne.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Wayne’s name to Bridgeway Hospice, 2014 W. Pinhook Road, Lafayette, LA 70508.
