William "Billy" Alfred Sorrel

NEW IBERIA – Funeral Services will be conducted for Mr. William “Billy” Alfred Sorrel, age 63, at 11:00 am Saturday, April 2, 2016 at Evangeline Funeral Home with Fr. Nicholas Dupre’ officiating. Interment will follow at Beau Pre Mausoleum.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 pm until 9:00 pm on Friday. The funeral home will reopen at 8:00 am on Saturday until service time.

A native and resident of New Iberia, Mr. Sorrel passed away at1:53 pm on, Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at Iberia Medical Center.

Mr. Sorrel enjoyed spending time outdoors, hunting, fishing and boating. He was an Electrician and owner of Sorrel Electrical Specialties, LLC in New Iberia, until his son purchased the business in 2007. He enjoyed spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren.

Mr. Sorrel is survived by his wife of 42 years, Lucy Poirrier Sorrel of New Iberia; his three children, Kimberly S. Durocher of New Iberia; Casey Lynn Sorrrel and wife Alix Boudreaux Sorrel of Broussard and Amy Sorrel Allemand and husband Lance Allemand of Madisonville; five grandchildren, Cameron Durocher; Caitlyn Durocher; Emma Sorrel; Carter Sorrel and Collin Allemand. He is also survived by one sister, Kathy S. Little of Toledo Bend ad four brothers, David Sorrel; Allen Sorrel and Donald Sorrel all of New Iberia and Michael Sorrel of Marietta, GA.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Solange and Sybil Indest Sorrel and one brother, Edwin Marshal Sorrel.

Pallbearers will be Christopher Sorrel, Dennie Kinsey, Roy Mistretta, Cameron Durocher, Lance Allemand and Freddie Robinson.
