Enrique M. Gonzales

Enrique Misola Gonzales Sr. died April 22, 2012 , commemorating the day he married his beautiful wife Thelma (deceased) 53 years ago. He felt the love and prayers of his grateful children who were at his bedside when he passed away at the age of 86 .

Enrique was born on July 15, 1925 in Santa Cruz, Zambales to Juliano and Toribia Misola Gonzales. He was loved by his 7 brothers and sisters, Rosalina, Maria , Santiago, Pedro, Juana, Carmen and Adela. He went to San Juan de Letran College in Manila, Philippines and graduated Bachelor of Science in Education and furthered his education in University of Sto. Tomas in Manila as Master of Arts, majoring in Spanish.

He went to Cotobato, Mindanao to teach at Albano College where he met his future wife Thelma who was also a Teacher. They produced 8 children and 20 grandchildren and a lots of friends who are very dear to them. With his wife, He went back to Olongapo , Zambales and taught at Columban College and had a privilege and a pride of friendship with a young priest who became Bishop Teodoro C. Bacani Jr. Then, he went to teach at the University of the East in Manila for more than 25 years.

Enrique and Thelma bought a house in Cogeo Village, Antipolo, Rizal where they inspired the community with their sense of service to people and their faith to God. Enrique was a member of Eucharistic Lay Minister, Knights of Columbus and Knights of Rizal. He was awarded as exemplary citizen of the Province of Rizal and outstanding parents of Antipolo with Thelma in 1995.

He was the best father to his children: Maria Corazon, Nathaniel, Luzviminda, Elma, Zenaida, Enrique Jr., Elmer and Thelma. He was adored by his children-in-law: Ayrin Maybituin, Eduardo Sabile, Gerardo Gatchalian, Gaudencio Gatchalian Jr. Randie Rano, Maricris Vasquez and Steve Miller. He was missed by his grandchildren: Rodrigo, Franchella, Joseph, Irina, Emmanuel, Eduardo Jr.,Luvy Ann, Enrick, Jerel, Jerelyn, Matthew, Gaudencio III, Rainier, Erika, Raila, Elin, Kim, Kay Ann, Kayla and Lizel.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday at 10 am in St. Joseph Church, Squire St. New London. Calling Hours will follow on Friday from 12pm- 5pm at Fulton-Theroux Funeral Home, 181 Ocean Ave. New London. Burial will be in Heaven’s Gate Memorial Park, Antipolo, Philippines .
