Fortunata Cecilia Clayton

Mrs. Clayton was born in New London the daughter of Domingo and Sophia (Bradge) Lopes. She was a graduate of Chapman Tech in New London. She married Felton S. Clayton Sr. in New London in 1949. He predeceased her in 1988.

Mrs. Clayton is survived by her daughter Sandra A. Fortes of Norwich, a son Felton S. Clayton Jr. of Groton three grandchildren(Diane Villano, Nicholas Fortes and Kelsie Clayton) and two great-grandchildren (Jessica and James Villano Jr.)c. She is also survived by her sister. Leola Ali of Indiana, her brother Dominic Lopes Jr of Pennsylvania and many loving nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her brother Joseph Lopes.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at 11:00am in St. Mary Star of the Sea Church, New London. Interment will follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery, New London. Calling Hours will be held on Tuesday, May 19, 2015 from 5:00 until 8:00pm in Fulton-Theroux Funeral Home, 181 Ocean Ave., New London.
