Louise was a matriarch to her family. A strong and loving woman, she was resourceful, creative, and had a passion for poetry. Louise was born on June 1, 1914 in Promfret CT, the youngest daughter of Berry and Maude (Congdon) Jackson.
After attending public school in Promfret, she moved to New London CT and married Hezekiah "Kit" Whitford in 1942. Louise retired from Lawrence and Memorial Hospital were she worked as a baker.
Louise was well known in the community as a good hearted woman who took care of many loved ones. Spending time with family and friends was precious to her and she would spend hours telling family stories.
Louise is survived by her brother Louis Jackson of Waterford, son Phillip Whitford of Quaker Hill, daughter Delores "Sue" Hill of Morrisonville NY, granddaughter Lisa Brown and great grandsons Phillip, Eric and Chris Brown of Mystic, granddaughter Katheryn Hill and family of Texas, and many neices and nephews.
Louise was predeceased by her husband Hezekiah, three children, five brothers and three sisters.
Throughout Louise's life she remained a wonderful mother, grandmother, and a true friend and mentor who listened closely and always had so many thoughtful ways of caring and sharing to brighten others days. So it isn't any wonder that she is loved so very much or that she will remain such a special part of all lives she touched.
