Vanessa was born in New York City on August 6, 1958 to Christopher and Mariam (Gibson) Bright.
Vanessa is survived by her daughters Lakisha Alexander, Trumaine wilson, Tara Wilson all of New London; Grandchildren Tajarel, Nojai, Dahmoni, Trumaine, Damon, and two great-grandchildren.
Also left to cherish Vanessa's memory are siblings Darren Bright (wife Isabel), Gayle Huff, Rosalind Morgan, John Kelly, Jr. (wife Susan) Royce H. Kelly (wife Yvette) Pearl Paris (husband Jaykuan) as well as her boyfriend Keiven Wright. She was predeceased biological father Christopher Bright and parent John and Miriam Kelly, son Vernell Marshall and brother Peter Gisbon.
