Alfie Schwarz Collins, homemaker and loving mother of 9 children, born in New Orleans on March 23, 1926, resident of Metairie the past 52 years, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family on July 23, 2011. Preceded in death by her husband, Henry (Harry) W. Collins, and her parents, Edouard and Victoria G. Schwarz Sr. Survived by her children Hank Collins (Kim), Kathy C. Morse (Michael), Peggy Collins, Kevin Collins (Beth), Eddie Collins, Kelly C. Savage (David), Rosana C. Preau (Dennis), Thomas Collins, and Keith Collins (Jennifer). Grandmother of Brandi C. Abadie (Danny), Christopher Collins, Michael & Jeffrey Morse, Ashley & Kacey Collins, Jason, Katie, Stephanie, & Jeremy Collins, Ricky, Michelle, Jennifer, & Christine Preau, , Caroline, Andrew, Julianne, Analiese, Christian, & Kyle Collins; Great grandmother to Rylee Abadie. Also survived by her sister Carolyn S. Myers (Charles), and brother Edouard Schwarz Jr. (Marion). Heartfelt thanks to all the staff & caregivers of Right at Home and Concerned Care.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at JacobSchoen & Son Funeral Home, 3827 Canal St., New Orleans, LA on July 27, 2011, from 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM, followed by a funeral mass. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery #2. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Alfie’s honor to Children’s Hospital of N.O. or your favorite charity. .
