Barbara Ann Gentry

Barbara Ann Maumus Gentry, a native and lifelong resident of New Orleans, passed away on Monday, April 4, 2011 at the age of 73. Barbara is survived by her beloved husband of 51 years, V. David Gentry; children, Kathleen G. Roy (husband Jimmy), Roxane G. Algero (husband Peter, Jr.), Suzanne G. Templet (husband Ryan), and David Charles Gentry (wife Kristy); brother, Oliver A. Maumus; grandchildren, Jimmy, Madeleine, Olivia and Jacob Roy; Sabrina, Peter, III and Barbara Dora Algero; Kathleen, Ryan, Jr., David, and Gentry Templet; Corrine and David Gentry, Jr. She is preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Olive Patton Maumus and two brothers, Raymond and Oscar Maumus. Barbara retired after 18 years as Physical Education Teacher and Coach at St. Anthony of Padua School. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, who had a zest for life and loved to travel.

A Funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Dominic Catholic Church, 775 Harrison Avenue, New Orleans, LA on Thursday, April 7, 2011 at 11:00 A.M.
