Bertel N. Verdigets

Maj. Bertel Nicholas Verdigets, USMC, Ret. passed away on March 26, 2013 at the age of 93. Loving husband of Rosemary Fallo Verdigets, deceased. Bertel was predeceased by his parents Bertel and Anna Verdigets, his stepdad George Durel and his cousins Salvador and Angeline Carlisi. He is survived by two sisters, Marie Gattuso and her late husband Roy, Lois Kuchler (John), three sons Paul (Michelle), Felix (fiance Gina) and George Verdigets. Bertel is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren, dear cousins Ann Habig and Rose Schwartzel and their families.

He was a lifelong resident of New Orleans, spending the last three and a half years at Emeritus in Kenner. He was General Manager of Davidson Dental Supply. Bertel was a member of the Marine Corps League, Paul E. Boyd Det. 579, American Legion Post 23, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3267, The Retired Officers Assn., Life Member Military Officers Assn. of America, Greater New Orleans Italian Cultural Society, Italian American Bocce Club and The U.S. Bocce Assn.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Service on Saturday March 30, 10:30am at Jacob Schoen & Son Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 9:00am and continue until Service time. Interment will follow in Lake Lawn Park Cemetery.
