Carolyn Anne Tonahill

Carolyn Tonahill went to heaven on Tuesday,October 9th. She is survived by her loving companion Pete Dudenhefer,her daughter Traci(Richard),her brother James(Betty Sue),her sister Marian(David),her brother Brian(Tammy), and many nieces, nephews and grandchildren. Remember when you leave this earth you can take with you nothing that you have received,only what you have given.A heart enriched by honest service,love,sacrifice and courage.

The quote above by St Francis of Assisi is fitting in many ways as it exemplifies Carolyn's journey in life. Carolyn was born in Pomeroy, Ohio.She decided to become an educator at an early age.Toward this end she obtained degrees in Political Science and Psychology.She earned her Master in Education from Baylor and was working on her Doctorate at TCU.Carolyn taught in the Texas school system for over 25 years. Her heart was enriched by honest service to our children.

She has left everyone she met with beautiful memories. She is gone but never forgotten.

Relatives and friends of the family are welcome to attend a Memorial Service in the Chapel of Jacob Schoen & Son Funeral Home, 3827 Canal St.; on Wednesday, October 17, 2012 at 2:00 pm. Visitation will begin at 12:00 pm until service time. There will also be a small memorial service for her friends in Baton Rouge at a later date.
