Charles Christopher Fuchs departed this world on February 14, 2011. Born on August 16, 1945 in Memphis, Tennessee to Conrad Fuchs and Evaline Waters, he was raised in New Orleans. He is survived by his loving wife, Patricia B. Sutker, his daughter Kim Kaye, and his two grandchildren Aaron and Rachel Kaye. He also leaves behind his brother Conrad Michael, three sisters, Penny, Pam, and Cassy, nieces and nephews, and son-in-law Alan Kaye. A talented basketball player, Chris graduated from Warren Easton High in 1963. For most of his life he worked in construction as a iron worker, welder, and crane operator, and he enjoyed fishing and reading. He and his wife relocated to Lubbock, Texas for 10 years where he was active in financial investments. Chris was known by family and friends for his strength, intellect, devotion, and energy. He was well respected for his forthright manner and absolute trustworthiness. In the course of his life, he faced difficult and traumatic circumstances, but he survived quietly turning himself to making those he loved safe. To those who knew him, and especially his wife, daughter, and grandchildren, he was a hero of gigantic proportions. Though he is missed and mourned moment by moment, his care is entrusted to our dear Savior Jesus Christ who is the resurrection and the life for all who believe in Him.
