Doris Lestelle Flashner

Doris May Lestelle Flashner entered into eternal rest on the morning of Easter Sunday, April 8, 2012 at the age of 88. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rudolph George Flashner and her son, Kenneth Michael Flashner, a Vietnam casualty. She was the daughter of the late Joseph Lestelle, Sr. and Jeannette Bowie Lestelle with siblings, the late Joseph Lestelle, Jr. and the late Janet Lestelle Mollere. Doris was the loving mother of her daughter, Judith Flashner Buckley, and son-in-law, the late Michael Stephen Buckley and grandmother to Erin, Raegan, Ellen and Shannon Buckley. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews Michael and Linda, Scott and Renee, Tommy and Jeanne, and Patirick Mollere and Susie Mollere Wong, Wendy and Bob Reed and Dale Reed.

She was a lifelong resident of New Orleans having her roots on Frenchman St. In later years, she and Rudy moved to Bay St. Louis, MS, returning to New Orleans after the death of her husband and loss of her home to Hurricane Katrina.

Doris gave her all to her family and friends. She was truly generous and loving in all aspects of her life.

A graveside service will be Friday, November 16 at 2:00 pm in St. Roch #2 Cemetery. Friends and family are welcome.
