Dorothy Fousch Zimmer

Dorothy Theresa Fousch Zimmer passed away on Thursday, March 4, 2010 at the age of 81. She is survived by her beloved husband of more than 65 years, Maximillian E. Zimmer, Jr., three sons, Maximillian E. Zimmer, III husband of Annette Arceneaux Zimmer, Craig A. Zimmer husband of Charleen Hickman Zimmer and Keith C. Zimmer husband of Debbie Gros Zimmer. Dottie is the grandmother of Mary Erica Zimmer, Maximillian E. Zimmer, IV, Christine Ann Zimmer Guilbeau wife of Justin Guilbeau, Courtney Ann Zimmer Key wife of Alex Key, Kellie Christine Zimmer, the late Craig Anthony Zimmer, Jr. and great grandmother of Laynie Ann Guilbeau. She is survived by two brothers, Edward J. Fousch husband of Virgie and Robert J. Fousch husband of Gwen, many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Emily Madary Fousch and Jacob Joseph Fousch and a brother, Jacob Joseph Fousch. Dorothy was a native and lifelong resident of New Orleans, a parishioner and former member of St Maria Goretti Choir, retired Nurse at Baptist Hospital Recovery Room, President of the League of St. Jude, former President of South Central Bell Wives and former officer of the Krewe of Lourdes of Chalmette, LA.

Dottie was always full of life. She loved her home, and enjoyed singing, dancing, sewing and traveling. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends. She will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by all who knew her.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Visitation and Funeral Mass.

Visitation will be at Jacob Schoen and Son Funeral Home, 3827 Canal Street, New Orleans, LA on Monday, March 8, 2010 between the hours of 6:00 P.M. and 9:00 P.M. and on Tuesday, March 9, 2010 from 9:00 until 11:15 A.M.

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church, 7300 Crowder Blvd., New Orleans, LA on Tuesday, March 9, 2010 at 12:00 Noon. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Mausoleum, Slidell, LA
