Joslin Aldrich, age 38, returned home to her Heavenly Father after her valiant battle with colon cancer on Tuesday, June 14 at the St. Al’s in Ontario, Oregon. Joslin was born May 19, 1978, and from her first moment on this earth to her last, she was a sign of hope and strength. She impacted strangers and family and friends alike with her contagious laugh and light smile. She was more than just a mother, sister, daughter, and wife; she was a friend and confidant. Her parents, Don and Lori Weaver raised a daughter full of life and light. She married at the age of nineteen to a man equally as strong and loving named Jeremy Aldrich after attending Meridian High School together. She had three beautiful children; Savanna who is 16 years old, Aubree who is 14, and Little TJ who is 3. She is also survived by her sister Rashele Weaver, and brother Britton Weaver. Joslin graduated from Meridian High school and promptly moved out on her own. She was always a very strong, independent person. She moved to Boise where she worked at Hastings (book and movie store). She was working at Hastings when she and Jeremy started dating. They were married and later sealed in the Boise Temple in 1998. She always had a strong faith in her LDS religion. She held the light of Christ in her and it shown in every situation that she was faced with her entire life. They lived in Boise when they had their first child. An extremely headstrong little girl named Savanna. She was and still is the light of their lives as are all of their children. Savanna was born at the Boise St Luke’s and has lived her life from then on same; on time and scheduled. Roughly 18 months later her sister Aubree came into the world. She was born in Jackson Hole Wyoming two days after their anniversary. Aubree came a month early and as a complete shock. She also has kept true to form and continues to surprise and keep us on our toes. The little family grew in love and adventures living in Boise, Eagle, and Star. During this time Jeremy started his education at Boise State University. Joslin kept the family stable and strong while Jeremy was working and going to school. She always seemed to know how to handle each situation that arose with the kids. They ran a fence building business together during this time. Jeremy built the fences and Joslin did all the books. This was their chaotic life but they always stayed close and loved each other no matter what else happened. She loved working at her callings in church, especially with the young women. They made her laugh and she loved all of them so much. They decided to build their house and after a middle of the night prompting from the spirit to Joslin, they decided on New Plymouth. They have never regretted that decision. Joslin decided to go back to school. She has always been so intelligent and a higher education was always calling to her. She started classes at University of Phoenix online. This was a difficult course load during this time and she devoted much of her time to it, so that she would excel. She wanted to graduate with straight A’s and spent the time and effort to do so. It was during this time that we found out that she was pregnant. It was something that Jeremy and Joslin had wanted for many years and it finally happened. The Lord knows the correct timing, even if we don’t feel like it is. She graduated with an associate's degree in Psychology about 6 months after little TJ was born. He always made her smile, even when she was diagnosed with cancer just a couple years after his birth. Joslin was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer on August 24th 2015. Throughout her entire life, she managed to keep a very positive attitude. She always had plans for the future and never gave up hope. She planned on beating this cancer, but Heavenly Father needed her more. She has always been an inspiration to all those around her, especially her children and husband. She is a bright light and will be a great guardian angel to all those she loved.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, June 18th at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, New Plymouth.
