Martha May Robertson was born July 5th 1932 in Beagle at Sams Valley Oregon where she grew up. She graduated from high school in the Medford area. Enlisted in the ROTC to help her country during WWII. She met her first husband Vern Frieze while there and they had two children, Sherryl and Doug. They moved from Oregon to California and worked in the insurance field for several years and had one more child, Richard. She divorced Vern and moved back to Medford, OR where she met the love of her life, James David Robertson and his son Randy. They married and moved to Sams Valley and had another son, Chris; giving her a total of five children.
Martha enjoyed family life, camping, fishing, hunting, and dancing. As a child Martha traveled with her family singing and performing at county fairs. Her love of music, especially country music, led her to write songs in which she had one published.
Martha worked with Dave in bakeries throughout Oregon, eventually ending up in Pendleton where they worked at competing bakeries; her at Albertsons decorating cakes and as a bakery hostess and Dave at Safeway as a baker. After he retired they delivered 5th wheels, campers and trailers for several years right up until Dave passed away in 2000. Martha could never recover from this loss. She stayed with her daughter for 12 years until daughter was taken from this earth in a tragic event. She then resided at Dorian Place in Ontario making friends and putting smiles on everyone’s faces wherever she went until her health eventually put her at Payette Care Center where she passed away on May 6th, 2016 at 83 years young.
