

Ted Stewart of New Rochelle, passed away July 22, 2013 surrounded by his friends. He was 72. A native New Rochellean, Ted graduated from New Rochelle High School. He was a retired bank officer with JP Morgan Chase. His banking career with both Chase and Bank of New York spanned more than 45 years.
In addition to his professional career, Ted served as a Board Member and Treasurer of the New Rochelle Campership Fund for more than 40 years. He was deeply devoted to the mission of sending financially challenged New Rochelle children to summer camp. He actively helped raise funds to support the Campership’s goals.
Ted is pre-deceased by his parents Florence and John Stewart and his sister Mary Ann, all of New Rochelle. He is survived by his life-time partner of more than 37 years, Lawrence D. Stewart, of the home, and 6 cousins: Peggy Fiore of Galloway, NJ; Linda Ackerly of Rockaway, NJ; Cathy Hedrich of Moor Park, CA; Ron Hedrich of Wisconsin Dells, WI; Donna Hedrich of Adams, WI and Tom Hedrich of Birmingham, AL and his beloved Aunt Ett of Tomah, WI.
All who knew Ted loved him. His soul was gentle and caring, his wit was dry and sharp and his heart was generous and loving. He loved current events and stayed abreast of them without fail. He was always ready for a spirited discussion the day’s events.
Ted was an avid traveler having visited more than 40 countries, islands and many of the 50 states. He loved the NY Giants, NY Mets, dining out, live Broadway theatre, music of all types, and more than all, he loved “his” New York City with all it has to offer.
Family and friends may call Thursday and Friday 2:00 p. m.- 4:00 p. m. and 7:00 p. m. - 9:00 p. m. at the George T. Davis Funeral Home, New Rochelle, NY. Funeral Service will be held Saturday, July 27, 2013 at 11:00 a. m. at the Funeral Home. Cremation will be private.
