The Janeway family is sad to announce the passing of Annell Mabe Janeway on December 7, 2021. She was born Nov 09, 1936 in Lone Mountain,TN. Mother was a member of Chittums Chapel Church for years and having recently joined The New Tazewell First Baptist Church until death. A retired educator with the Claiborne County Schools System, mother taught many years at Springdale Elementary where she often recalled having “that” child in school. She was a Graduate of Lincoln Memorial University and received a Masters Degree from East Tennessee State University.
Annell is proceeded in death by Kenneth Janeway, married 58 years until his passing in 2017, parents Jim and Birdie Mabe and brother James Mabe.
Annell is survived by: Sons Richard D. Janeway of New Tazewell, Steven R. Janeway {Clea} of Dallas, TX and daughter Kristie Jernigan {Doug} of Charlotte, NC.
Grandchilden: Christopher Jernigan, Juliann Jernigan Lee (Jack) of Charlotte, NC, Kenneth, Helen and Rose Janeway of Dallas, TX, special grandchildren Bryson and Benson Hensley, New Tazewell, TN; Great Grandchildren: Gabrielle (Gabby) Lee and Luke Lee of Columbia, SC.
Sisters: Bobbie Arnold {Joe}, Billie Edwards {Tom}, Georgia Moyers {Dennis}, Janice Cunningham {Jake}
Host of nieces, nephews other family, friends and special cousin Edith McCloud.
Mother had many special friends and neighbors who often enjoyed porch time and recalling stories of much simpler times including: Jerry and Debbie Belcher, Doug and Karen Hensley, Becky Gordon, Jewel Brantley and Pam Gilbert.
Special thanks to beloved nieces and nephews Bob and Vickie Oakes and Julie Taylor. We must not forget the fourth floor staff at UT Medical Center who went above and beyond the call to assist. Each are a gift from God.
Pallbearers: Brandon Poore, Doug Hensley, Bryson Hensley, Brady Hamlin, Landon Johnson and Jeff Lewis. Visitation will be Sunday from 12 noon until 2:00 P.M.
Services Sunday December 12, 2021 at 2pm; and burial will follow in the Burch Cemetery.

Life is a journey that begins with the first breath and ends with the last. Mother was a pillar to the community and to our family, for that she will be greatly missed.
