Cenia Marlene Singleton

Born to Mary and the late John Howard, Marlene lived a life centered on God’s love, warmth, and quiet strength. She was a faithful member of Rock Haven Baptist Church. She was a devoted wife to William T. Singleton Jr., and a proud mother of two children, Robby Singleton and Kandi Singleton Reece. She is also survived by her grandsons, Nathan and Hunter Reece, her mother, Mary Howard, her brother Hobart Howard, and sister-in-law Jackie Howard.

Marlene was known for her gentle heart and her devotion to the people—and animals—she loved. She adored her dogs, found joy in books and quilting, and cherished every moment spent with her husband and family. Her presence brought unconditional love to all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her father, John Howard.

Marlene’s memory will be held close by all who were blessed to share life with her. Her kindness, her creativity, and her deep love for her family will continue to inspire those she leaves behind.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM with funeral services to begin at 7:00 PM at Coffey Funeral Home in New Tazewell, TN. A graveside service will be on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at 1:00 PM at the Holt Family Cemetery in Thorn Hill, TN. Anyone wishing to follow in procession is asked to be at Coffey Funeral Home by 12:00 PM.
