Edward Gary Alston Jr., age 33, of New Tazewell, TN was born May 3, 1989 and went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 22, 2023. Gary was a member of Riverview Baptist Church and was saved when he was only 7 years old.
He is survived by his mom Sheila Monty. Father Edward Gary Sr. Sister Amber Leann Sharp. Sister Heather May Sparks. Half-brothers Jeremiah Alston and Gabrielle Alston. Children Charles James Alston, Emily Grace Alston, and Rosalynn Ann Alston. Wife April Danielle Singleton. Grandfather Herman L. Evans. Step Father Ivan James Monty. Step Mother Jenifer Alston. Step Brother Jonathan Wayne Monty Rickey Davis Step Sisters Julie Monty and Crystal Monty as well as a host of friends and relatives.
Gary was preceded in death by his grandmothers Barbara Sue Evans and Edna Alston, Grandfather Andrew Alston. Uncles Edward James Evans and Patrick Alston. Great grandmother Willisie Evans. Great grandfather Herman Evans. As well as other relatives.
Gary enjoyed working on cars, riding motorcycles, and being outdoors. But more than anything he loved spending time with his family and friends. Gary always wanted to help those around him, he would drop everything to help someone in need. Everyone who knew him knew how big his heart was and that you could count on him. Gary put his family first in everything he did and did everything he could to make sure they were happy and taken care of. His children were his biggest joy and the lights in his life. Gary will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
A memorial service will be held Saturday March 4, 2023 at 11 AM in Riverview Baptist Church with burial to follow in the Riverview Cemetery.
