Morrie Dwayne Tucker, age 56, passed away on August 24, 2025, in Knoxville, Tennessee. Born on April 24, 1969, in Sneedville, TN. Dwayne lived a life marked by hard work, dedication to his craft, and deep love for his family.
Known to many simply as Dwayne, he was a gifted mechanic whose hands were rarely still. Whether it was a car engine that needed tuning, a house project that required attention, or even a toy in need of repair, Dwayne could always be found fixing something. His passion for working with his hands defined much of his life and brought him both purpose and pride.
Dwayne was the proud father of five children: Iesha Tucker (DeAna Porter), Jeanea Tucker, Chaneyra Tucker, Mia Tucker (Billy West), and Jared Louthan. Special bonus child, Tanner Sutton. In recent years, one of his greatest joys came from being a "Papaw" to six wonderful grandchildren: Za'Kari Ford, Taegan Tucker, Amerah Parkey, Alion Noe, Wrenlei Tucker, and Tate West. His time with them was cherished deeply and added a new layer of fulfillment to his life.
Dwayne is survived by the mother of his children, Lana Jo Tucker, and by his devoted companion of many years, Heather Wells. He also leaves behind his sister, Sharon Tucker; his brother, Greg Tucker (Jane Tucker); and his nephews and nieces, Mycah Tucker, Brianna Tucker, Joseph Tucker, Seneca Tucker, and Cassandra Tucker. Along with them, he leaves behind many friends and extended family who will miss him dearly.
Dwayne is preceded in death by his mother, Marlene Tucker; father, Clyde Tucker; and stepfather, Frank Harrison.
Dwayne's legacy lives on through the engines he repaired, the homes he repaired, and most importantly through the lives of those who loved him. May his memory bring comfort and strength to all who knew him.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM at Coffey Funeral Home in New Tazewell. Following visitation, the family will go in procession to the Hoop Creek Cemetery.
