

Reed Matthew Hamlin age 29, passed away on September 22, 2015 at his home. He was born in Knoxville TN, February 23, 1986. He was the son of William (Bill) Jr. and Janice (Jan) Mabe Hamlin. He graduated from Claiborne High School where he enjoyed being a part of the basketball and football teams. He belonged to Cedar Grove Baptist Church, and often attended Chittum Chapel Baptist Church. He enjoyed his time spent fishing and being a part of the “good ole’boys”. Reed was a devoted father and uncle, who loved nothing more than spending time teaching “his boys” how to play basketball and football. Reed will be remembered for his charismatic personality and the love he had for his son, nephew and family.
He is preceded in death by his father William (Bill) Hamlin Jr., as well as his grandparents Raymond and Karen Hamlin, and Jim and Birdie Elora Mabe.
Reed is survived by his son: Braden Hamlin.
Mother: Janice Mabe Hamlin.
Sister: Elora Hamlin Prichard (Kyle Prichard).
Nephew: Landon Johnson.
Nieces: Lauren and Rebecca Prichard.
Reed was a proud part of the Mabe family, and is survived by a
host of Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins who will miss him dearly.
Family will receive friends Saturday September 26th, from 12 until 3 P.M, at Coffey Funeral Home in Tazewell. The funeral will follow at 3 P.M. with Rev. Jake Cunningham officiating, Rev. Eddie Overholt will be reading the obituary, and Kyle Prichard will be reading the eulogy. Graveside service will follow the funeral and will be held at Chittum Cemetery in Tazewell.
Pallbearers will be Duane Parkey, Josh Goins, Matt Green, Terrance Harris, Brandon Poore, and Ryan Kruse.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Phillip Mabe, Robert Barton, Richard Janeway, Landon Johnson, and Sam Harmon.
The family asks that memorial donations be made to Coffey Funeral Home in New Tazewell, TN.
