Richard Dewayne McMurray

He was saved at an early age and was a devoted Christian. Richard was an avid outdoorsman; he loved to hunt and fish. He was also proud to be a farmer and enjoyed working with tobacco and cattle, but more than anything he loved his family. Richard was a devoted husband, father, and papaw. He was the type of person that was happy to help anyone who needed it and made many friends throughout his life. He will be dearly missed by everyone who had the honor to know him.

Richard is preceded in death by his parents Richard and Margie McMurray, grandparents Howard and Ollie McMurray, Woodrow and Ola Brooks.

He is survived by his wife of 34 years Linda McMurray. Children Ricky (Amanda) McMurray and Megan (David) McMurray. Grandchildren Shana Marie McMurray, Hayden Earl McMurray, Paisley Jade Musick, and Colton Sawyer Hall. Bonus grandchildren Kenslee Hall and David 'Jobe' Hall. Sisters Sherry McMurray, Sharon (Doug) Weiss, and Sheila (Steve) Reed. As well as a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday April 8, 2025 from 5 until 7 PM at Coffey Funeral Home in Tazewell. The funeral service will follow at 7 PM in the Coffey Funeral Home chapel. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday April 9, 2025 at 11 AM in the Riverview Cemetery.
