

Robert Lawrence McCoy was born December 25, 1935 to Grover Cleveland and Lillie Virginia (Mills) McCoy and passed away peacefully with a smile at 1:25 am on April 9, 2013 at his home with Crystal by his side holding his hand. He was married to Mary Ruth (Sue) Lamb and to this union were born three children, Robert Jr. (Bob), Connie and Mark Avery. He was later married to Crystal Ann Dalton who loved his children and grandchildren as her very own. He worked most of his life running bulldozers and loaders which he truly enjoyed and later developed a love for farming and trucking with Stanley. He loved children and enjoyed being with his family. Robert was a truly honest, loving and dedicated man. He professed faith in Christ at an early age and joined Chinquapin Missionary Baptist Church. In 1997 he moved his membership to Union Missionary Baptist Church where he remained a faithful member until his death. He was preceded in death by: Parents-Grover C. and Lillie Virginia (Mills) McCoy, Brother and Sister-in-law-Carl and Betty McCoy, Brothers-Jim and Stan McCoy, Niece-Kaineil McCoy, Father-in-law-Ed Dalton, Brothers-in-law--Allen (Happy) Seal and Rev. Stanley Dalton, Mother of his Children-Mary Ruth (Sue) Lamb McCoy, Infant Daughter-Connie McCoy and infant Great Granddaughter-Angel Grace Greene.
He is survived by: Loving Wife of 17 years Crystal Dalton McCoy, Sons and Daughters-in-law: Bob and Jill McCoy of Treadway, Mark and Tina McCoy of Jefferson City, Lisa McCoy Sizemore of Sneedville, Grandchildren-Evan McCoy of Sneedville, Jess and Charles Greene of Morristown, Lauren, Meredith and Sarah McCoy of Treadway and Sarah Beth Antrican of Sneedville, Great Grandchildren-Madison and Noah Greene, Sisters and Brother-in-law-Edith Seal of Treadway, Karen McCoy and John Leibrock of San Antonio, Texas, Sisters-in-law-Vickie McCoy and Eleanor McCoy of Sneedville, Mother-in-law-Roose V. (Mammy) Dalton of Thorn Hill,sister-in-law and brother-in-law-Jenny and Wendell Singleton and Sister-in-law-RoseAnn Dalton all of Thorn Hill, Nieces and Nephews-James Allen, Becky, Lisa, Mike, Belinda, Jason, Cody, Breanna and Telie McCoy, Tonyia, Robby, Brookelyn and Hayden Stewart, Jennifer, Eric, Allison, Gabriel, and Luke Goodman, Wendy and Calvin Mullins, Jennifer, James Jr. and Mason Dalton and Dalton Clay Hipshire. Dear and special friends-Larry and Kathy Mullins, The Lamb Family, Sherry Antrican and Rev. Earl Bowlin, and a host of other relatives and friends and two very special pets, Max and Nutter Butter.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 P.M. Friday April 12, 2013 at Union Missionary Baptist Church in Thorn Hill, with the Revs. Earl Bowlin, Marty Seals and Frankie Holt officiating. Burial in the Dudley D. Dalton Cemetery in Thorn Hill. The family received friends from 5:00 until 9:00 P.M. on Thursday April 11, 2013 at Coffey Funeral Home in NewTazewell, TN. Pallbearers are Wendell Singleton, Rev. James Dalton Jr., Calvin Mullins, Mason Dalton, Cody McCoy, Hayden Stewart, Mike Antrican, Larry Mullins and Billy Smith.
Honorary Pasllbearers are Donnie Russell, Dalton Hipshire, Hunter and Nathan Reece.
