Roger Lynn Hill

Mr. Roger Lynn Hill, 74, of New Tazewell was born January 15, 1940 and passed away on January 31, 2014 at Claiborne County Hospital. He was baptized July 30, 1950 at First Baptist Church of New Tazewell and was a member of Fairview Baptist Church . He was a 1958 graduate of Claiborne County High School and was voted “best actor” in the Senior play . He was a veteran of the U.S. Army stationed in France . He worked for Giles Industries and Tri-State Supply and was Co-owner of Jim Brown Supply in Middlesboro, KY. Roger was a jokester and storyteller but most of all he loved playing with his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Dan and Alpha Skaggs Hill; sister; Margaret Anne Hill and John Paul Hill. Roger is survived by loving wife of 52 years: Lois Rowland Hill of New Tazewell; Daughters: Karen Hill Lioce (Daniel ) of Lakewood Ranch, FL.; Valerie Hill Moucha (Robert) of New Tazewell; Grandchildren: Rebecca Boggs, Matthew Lioce of Lakewood Ranch, FL; Emily Moucha of New Tazewell; Brothers: Charles and Carlene Hill of Rockingham , NC; Bill and Lynne Hill of New Tazewell; Lee and Judi Hill of Venice FL; David and Barbara Hill of Knoxville , TN; Several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends Monday February 3, 2014 from 12-2pm at the Coffey Funeral Home Chapel in New Tazewell with funeral service to follow at 2:00pm.
