Roy Keaton, age 79, passed away early on Monday morning at Hancock Manor Nursing Home. He was a life-long resident of Hancock County. He was saved at an early age at Friendlies Chapel Missionary Baptist Church where he remained a member until his death. Roy was a hard worker and always provided for his family. He loved his family and always encouraged them to do well.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years: Fern Keaton. His youngest son: Mark Keaton. His parents: King and Ploma Keaton. His brothers and sisters: Ruby Mills, Anna Mabe, J.E. Keaton, Clifford Keaton, Ralph Keaton and Jewell Trent.
Left to mourn his loss are his children: Bobby Keaton and his wife Dana and Janie Cole and her husband Byron. Grandchildren: Cortney Smith and husband Wilbur (Aza, Aison, and Jace), Jacob Roy Keaton, Luke Allen Keaton, Amber Estes and Ashley Estes. Great Grandchildren: Cashton Smith, Maxxton Smith and Elijah Driskell.
The family would like to thank all the staff at Hancock Manor for taking good care of their dad, grandpaw and great grandpaw and for always being kind to him.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, September 11, 2024 from 5 - 8 PM at Coffey Funeral Home in Tazewell, TN. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Thursday morning at Friendlies Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Sneedville, TN. Graveside service to follow in the Friendlies Chapel Cemetery.
