Roy Smith

Lee Roy Smith, 87, of 83 Gladstone Dr., Wabash, passed away Tuesday, April 10, 2012 in Tazewell TN. He was born January 15, 1925 in Tazewell, TN to the late Tillman and Della Smith. Roy served with the United States Army in the South Pacific during W.W.II from 1945-1946. He married Flossie Milligan on March 1, 1947 in Tazewell, TN; she passed away April 3, 1979. He then married Elva Webb on October 20, 1979. She preceded him in death on October 4, 2010. He retired from Honeywell Inc. in 1987. He was a member of the Erie Street Freewill Baptist Church, Wabash. His greatest joy was in spending time with his family and friends .

He is survived by a son, James & Debbie Smith of rural Wabash, 3 step sons, Cletus & Bonnie Webb of Catlettsburg, KY, Ray & Jenny Webb of Wabash, and Rick & Rhonda Webb of Wabash. Also surviving are 3 grandchildren, James Jr. & Jen Smith of Wabash, Judy & Gary McCracken of Bringhurst, IN, and Thomas Lee & Rita Smith of Lagro, IN. 8 Step grandchildren, Belinda Webb, Brad Webb, Joletta Sunters, Mark Webb, Angela Webb, Keith Webb, Lisa Fannin, and Audra Kaufenberg; 7 great-grandchildren, 15 step-great grandchildren, and 2 step great, great grandchildren. Also surviving are a brother, L. C. and Clare Smith, Tazewell, TN. He was preceded in death by 6 brothers and 3 sisters.

Visitation for family and friends will be from 6pm to 9 pm on Friday April 13, 2012 at Coffey Funeral Home 937 Broad Street, New Tazewell, TN. Services will be 11 am Saturday April 14, 2012 at Coffey Funeral Home with the Reverend Tommy Russell officiating

Pallbearers: James Jr. Smith, Thomas Lee Smith, Aaron Smith, Cory Ritter, Coty Ritter and Austin Smith

Honorary Pallbearers: Chase Daugherty, Doug Smith, William Carpenter, Kenneth Carpenter.

Burial to follow in the New Bethel Cemetery, Tazewell, TN.
