Stephen Kamps

Stephen Dale Kamps age 76 of Tazewell, was born August 15 1945, passed away peacefully at the Claiborne Medical Center on July 18, 2022. Stephen was a member of the United Church of Christ before moving to Tennessee. Steve Graduated from Warsaw High School in 1963 and then worked for 2 years before attending Southeastern Iowa College in Keokuk, Iowa and graduating with an associate of science degree in 1967. He then continued his education by attending Valparaiso Technical Institute in Valparaiso Illinois and graduating with a bachelor of science in electrical engineering. Steve worked for 13 different companies in his career mostly in the Southwest and Midwest as a contract engineer doing work on special projects. Steve met the love of his life Patricia Fultz working at Display Tech in Quincy Illinois. Steve and Patricia got married in Las Vegas, Nevada on August 15, 2007. Steve and Patricia had no children. Steve and Patricia spent their retirement years on a small farm in Golden, Illinois. Upon the death of Patricia from cancer, who was then buried in in the Crane cemetery, Steve sold his farm in Illinois and moved to Tennessee .

Steve was preceded in death by his parents Raymond and Dorothy Kamps of Warsaw, Illinois and wife Patricia Fultz of Harrogate, TN.

Survived by sisters Marilynn Davis and husband Bill Davis of Warsaw Illinois.

Brother and sister in law Roger and Georgia Harris, Claris and Pat Fultz, Leonard and Rachel Fultz all of Claiborne County.

Sister-in-law Kathryn and George Cunningham of Claiborne County

The family will receive friends Wednesday July 20 from 6-8pm at the Coffey Funeral Home chapel in New Tazewell. Graveside service will be Thursday July 21 at 10am in the Crane cemetery family and friends to meet at the cemetery.
