
Mr. William “Bill” Hamlin age 62 of Knoxville, Tn was born April 12, 1950 in Knoxville, TN and passed away December 25, 2012 at Laurel Manor Nursing Home. He served as Sunday School Superintendent at Tazewell Baptist Church and later on at Cedar Grove Baptist Church. While a member at each respective church, Bill displayed his love and interest in music. He graduated from Claiborne county High School and the University of Tennessee in Engineering. He worked at Burlington Industries in Ashville until 1983 when he move back home to help care for his Mother. He then began working at Pellissippi State Community College and completed a Masters in Education. While at Pellissippi State, he received many honors for advancement in higher education. Bill’s credited for developing the first Internet Course to be offered at any college in Knoxville. He retired in 2003. Bill will be greeted in Heaven by his parents Raymond and Karen “Gibson” Hamlin and mother and father-in-law, Jim & Birdie Mabe.
He is survived by his wife of 28 years: Jan Mabe Hamlin

The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 3:00 P.M. Saturday December 29, 2012 at Coffey Funeral Home in Tazewell with funeral service to follow at 3:00 P.M. Saturday in the Coffey Funeral Home Chapel. Burial in the Chittum Chapel Cemetery.
