

Augustine Jordan Clark, the eldest daughter of the late John Henry Jordan and Maydell Martin Jordan was born on 7/30/1939 in New Willard, Texas. “Tina”, as she was known by close family and friends, went to heaven on Mother’s Day, 5/11/14.
Augustine graduated from Dunbar High School in Livingston Tx. She attended Baruch College and completed her B.A. in Business Accounting. She was employed as the top Tax Accountant for Peter A. A. Berle and the landmark land-use and environmental law firm of Berle, Kass & Case in the 1980’s at their NYC office in Rockefeller Center. In 1994, when the firm closed its doors, Augustine began working for the Friends Quarterly Meeting Foundation as an accountant. In 1971, she married Jake Clark, a fashion photographer/musician, who she resided within Manhattan, New York City. In 1980, Augustine entered the real estate business in New York, with her husband Jake Clark, becoming the owner and property manager of multiple dwelling brownstones in the Hamilton Heights Historical Landmark Community. She used her accounting skills and real estate knowledge to build an established property management and investment company, which continues to thrive today. Their company continues to attract international students and long-staying vacationers, year after year.
In 1993, she returned to school to pursue her dream of becoming an educator and obtained her Master of Science in Education, Early Childhood Education degree at City College of New York where she graduated with high honors. She subsequently was selected from a pool of numerous candidates, receiving a full scholarship to obtain her Master of Science in Education degree in Teacher of Students with Disabilities in Childhood Education (Grades 1-6) at City College of New York, which was awarded in 1997. In addition, she attended City College taking classes towards her Advanced Certificate (Professional Diploma) in Educational Leadership as well. She worked as a Special Education Teacher for the State of New York, Public Schools System until retiring in 2011.
Augustine became guardian to her sister Mildred’s two children, Rhonda and Christopher Brunson, after her sister passed away at a very early age in 1980. She later became a foster parent and surrogate mother to children in and outside of the family.
Augustine is survived by her husband Jake Clark; her only child: daughter Jennifer A. Clark-Harris (John W.), two grand children, Jacqueline A. Clark-Harris and Alisha J. Harris; four siblings: Dornelia Hawkins(Gerald), Doniece Jordan Boone, John H. Jordan Jr. (Dorothy), and Frank Jordan (Auva); sister-in-laws: Juanita, Shirlene, and Diane M. Clark; brother-in-laws: David, Tommy, and A.-Tyrone Clark; nieces and nephews: Rhonda, Lisa, Christopher, Melony, Jermaine (Destiny), Carlton, Debbie, Cynthia, Sharon, Sabrina, Michael, Francine, Jonathan, Jason, Juliette, Charlotte, Latara, Troy, Martin, and a host of family and friends. She also was preceded in death by her youngest sister, Mary D. Jordan.
