Celeste Ondina LaMarche, age 91, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family and best friends at her home in West Palm Beach, Florida at sunrise on December 22, 2025 after living a full and joyful life.
Celeste was a fabulous woman in every sense of the word. She was one who could light up the room with her warmth, kindness, and her infectious nature. She had a remarkable gift of making everyone she met feel special, valued, and loved.
Born in 1934, in Lasyayas, Dominican Republic, Celeste immigrated to New York City in 1952 with her mother and siblings. Celeste lived a full life of adventure, love, and laughter. With her husband, Louis Nelson LaMarche (2019) of 66 years by her side, she fulfilled the American dream, proving that a life built on love, perseverance, and shared values is the greatest success of all. Her greatest joy and lifelong priority were her husband and her children, and the strength of her family stands as her most meaningful legacy.
As a mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend, she made each person feel like the most important person in the world. Her unwavering support, her ability to listen without judgement, and her natural talent for bringing people together for a celebration are just a few reasons why she was so beloved by all. To know Celeste was to be wrapped in a sense of belonging, and her legacy will live on in the countless lives she touched that will endure for generations.
Celeste is survived by her four children, Elizabeth LaMarche, Nelson LaMarche, Jossette (Cesar) Hidalgo, Jessica LaMarche and their five grandchildren Nelson Martin, Rebecca, Tessa, Ethan, Charlotte Celeste and her great grandson Caleb. She is also survived by her many nieces and nephews.
