

Keane died March 25 from a cardiac condition. She was thirty years old. Cornelia graduated from the Hewitt School in New York City with the Class of 2005. She later graduated from Hamilton College in Clinton, NY with the Class of 2009, earning a BA in Anthropological Archaeology. She went on to the University of Miami's Rosenstiel School of Marine & Atmospheric Science and graduated with a MS in Marine Affairs & Policy with a concentration in the Management of Underwater Cultural Heritage. Her thesis documented the excavation, cataloguing and reburial of HMS Fowey, a British Man o' War which sank in Biscayne Bay, FL in 1748. Cornelia engaged in many research projects under the auspices of the National Park Service. She was a PADI IDC Staff (SCUBA) Instructor and taught many aspiring sport divers in the US and Mexico, sharing with them her love of the oceans and marine ecosystems. Cornelia is survived by her parents, Ursula and Paul Lowerre, her sister and best friend, Lavinia Lowerre Klietmann, her brother-in- law, Maximilian Klietmann, their joyful son, Paul Klietmann, and LuLu, her beloved canine pal. The family will receive friends, family and well-wishers at Frank E. Campbell Funeral Chapel, 1076 Madison Avenue, Wednesday, March 28 from 5:00- 7:00pm. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00pm, Thursday, March 29 at the Church of the Heavenly Rest, Fifth Avenue at 90th Street.
