AVIS DE DÉCÈS

David Joseph Larijani

13 juillet 1965 – 15 juin 2025
Avis de décès de David Joseph Larijani
AUX SOINS DE

Frank E. Campbell - The Funeral Chapel | Funeral & Cremation

David Joseph Larijani passed away on June 15, 2025, from an unexpected cardiac event in New York City. He was 59.

Born July 13, 1965, in Washington D.C., David grew up in Iran, where his life-long passions for nature, art, music and sport were ignited. He left Iran with his family in 1979 and enrolled at the Harvard Westlake High School in Los Angeles. He graduated from the University of California San Diego, where he fell madly in love with the sea. He later attended business school at the Thunderbird School of Global Management in Arizona.

His experiences and interests ranged far and wide, from his work in Boston supporting the disenfranchised, to playing on the U.N. soccer league, sailing in regattas all over the world and consuming art in all its forms. In the nineties, he founded New York Private Realty Group in Manhattan and was a favored broker by the U.N. and Beekman communities. He lived in close connection with his family in New York City, Bermuda and Connecticut.

David was very loving, caring and deeply empathetic. His curiosity, energy, enthusiasm and intellect made him comfortable in almost any environment; he could always add to any conversation, often with a poem, song lyric or story that perfectly fit the occasion.

David craved adventure, expressed through global travel, fishing, skiing and a deep love for sailing. Always at the ready with a helping hand and a backpack full of tools, he took great pride in serving others and in unexpected acts of kindness. He had an infectious smile and a particular appreciation for beautiful things that he felt connected us to the wide and wonderful world beyond.

David is preceded in death by his father Nasrollah Fayaz Larijani and stepfather James Martin. He is survived by his mother Lillian Casey Martin and Leila Larijani, Russell Hirshfield, Jayron Larijani, Sheida Larijani and his beloved Seth and Katherine Richardson.

David…rest in peace for a little while, then go wild all over the universe. You made a mark and you’ll be missed.

Please join us for a celebration of David's life Sunday, July 13, 2025, 3-6pm at the New York Yacht Club, 37 W. 44th Street New York City. For those unable to attend in person, there is a video link. The Zoom broadcast will begin at 4 p.m. EST.
