

The eldest of 6 children, Frank C. Di Trapani was born in Palermo Sicily on Bastille Day- July 14th 1916. He immigrated with his family to America when he was 6 years old, settling in what was at that time an Italian neighborhood on 61st street and First Ave. NYC. He was a young man during the depression and worked hard to help support his parents, brothers and sister.
Frank served in the U.S. Army Air Corp as First Lieutenant and was amongst the first to be trained in the new, top secret Radar Technology during WWII.
Upon his honorable discharge Frank established himself owner and proprietor of Buyers TV Repair shop in Yorkville. He also taught High School math and electronics in New York’s public schools.
Frank was a lover of music. He formed his own band, ‘The Star Lighters’ in the 1950s, playing the piano for weddings, anniversaries and all holidays in between. He continued to play well into his 80s.
The beloved husband of late Elizabeth (nee Hunt), and loving father of late son Norman, Frank is survived by daughters Anne and Laura and son Frederick with wife Milka- grandchildren Hunter, Elizabeth and Thomas, and great grandchildren Charlie and Damian. nts under the direction of Chas.
