Fred was well-regarded by his colleagues and clients over the years with sales roles at Tele-Dynamics, Avaya, IBM and Microsoft. He set and pursued high goals both professionally and personally. Fred was passionate about distance running, completing 25 marathons including 14 NYC Marathons and the
2008 Chicago Gay Games. Fred had started training for his 15th New York City Marathon in June 2022, fundraising for Planned Parenthood.
Fred is predeceased in death by his father, Fred, Sr., and his mother, Donna Carey Ohm Hagenbaugh. He is survived by his husband and partner of 25 years, Steve Houck, brothers, Jeff Ohm and Steven (Windy) Ohm, sister, Suellen (Josh) Hays, uncles, Jim (Debbie) Carey and Brian Carey.
Fred will be celebrated with visitations and services: Visitation will take place at Riverside Memorial Chapel, 180 W. 76th St. New York, NY between 3-5PM and 6-8PM on Thursday, September 14, 2023.
Funeral mass will be held on Friday, September 15, 1:00PM at the Church of Saint Paul the Apostle, 405 W 59th St (60th & 9th Ave), New York, NY.
