Jacqueline "Jackie" Rosen Feldman passed away peacefully Wednesday at age 95 surrounded by generations of family. She is survived by her loving spouse Stanley Feldman to whom she was married for 68 years. Daughter of Beatrice Barnow Rosen and Leo Rosen. Sister of Norma Rosen Landau. Mother to Lee Feldman (Suzanne Quill) and Philippa Feldman Portnoy (Larry). Devoted grandmother to Henry, Andy and Allison Feldman and Alex, Harry and Zach Portnoy. Jackie was born in Manhattan and spent much of her childhood living near Yankee Stadium. She was a graduate of Julia Richman High School and Hunter College. She spent forty years in the fashion industry working initially at Look Magazine and then as the Fashion Director for the Franklin Simon department stores. She also worked as a stylist for designers and photographers including Richard Avedon and Jane Stark. She later worked as the designer for Stanley Looms, the fabrics business she founded and ran with Stanley. Jackie volunteered her time to Columbia University and she and Stanley served as co-chairs of the Columbia College Parents' Council.
Above all, Jackie loved time with her family. She and Stanley were nearly inseparable for 68 years and had a marriage that served as an example of what marriage should be. Jackie and Stanley passed on their love of tennis to their children and grandchildren and attended countless of their tennis tournaments (and practices believe it or not) over many decades. She also loved watching her grandchildren’s soccer games, plays, baseball games and recitals. Her love of her children and grandchildren was unwavering, all of whom were "faaaabulous" in her adoring eyes. She will be missed by family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Jackie's honor to The Hunter College Foundation, 695 Park Avenue, Room E1314, NY NY 10065 or online at https://hunter.cuny.edu/give/.
The funeral will take place on Sunday, August 31st at 9:45 AM at Riverside Memorial Chapel, 180 West 76th Street.
Shiva will take place on Sunday night from 7-9 PM and on Monday night from 5-8PM at Philippa and Larry’s apartment.
Burial is private, family only.
