The youngest of 2 children, born on November 11, 1943 to Vincenzo and Maria Lamanna; she was a devoted daughter and loving sister to Gloria Schiavetta.
She grew up on the Upper East Side where she remained a longtime resident. Together with her family she ran the Isle of Capri Restaurant which was established in 1955 by her parents. She greeted everyone who walked through its doors with her warm smile and treated everyone in her restaurant like family. She went out of her way to make sure everyone was happy and well fed.
In 1965 she married Joseph D'Agostino. They were married for 24 years and had 3 children together. They remained close until his passing in July 2022.
She was a loving mother and grandmother, an incredible cook, had a green thumb, and did it all effortlessly.
Jane was generous, kind, strong, smart, funny and caring. She was the heart and soul of her family and the Isle of Capri. Words cannot describe how much she will be missed by her family, friends, and community. To know her was to love her and those who did know her were incredibly blessed.
She is survived by her son and daughters, Peter D'Agostino, Maria Velissaris, Donna D'Agostino; and her grandchildren, Adam D'Agostino, Ally D'Agostino, Nick Velissaris, and Teddy Velissaris who all loved and adored her very much.
