Jane was the most welcoming, loving person of  our old , St. Vincent Ferrer crowd that met every Christmas, at the Isle of Capri.
A wonderful experience for all of us to reminisce of old times, when we were kids, growing up in the neighborhood. 
Jane was my best friend in grammar school , we lived only 1 block away from one another.  These cherished memories keep Jane’s  spirit alive in my heart. I am so grateful to have known Jane, her sister Gloria and her mother & Father.
Truly a  blessing to have been part of such a loving  family  while growing up.
Jane is now at peace, enjoying her eternal reward in heaven.

Remembering  sweet Aunt Jane at this one year mark of her passing . You are missed by so many . Touched so many lives ❤️. My life in immeasurable ways . Rest in peace

Dear Donna, Maria and the Family. I had a pleasure of knowing your Mom for the last 28 years, as a regular guest at the Isle de Capri. Jane was a wonderful, caring, sweet Mom to us all (all the guests at the restaurant). She made us all feel like a family, with her beautiful smile, friendly chats, kind gestures. Her short sleeve blouse style and the beautiful pendant on her neck were her trademark. Jane has always made sure that everyone was well taken care of and had an amazing experience. She loved people and people loved her back. She will be missed and never forgotten. My deepest condolences, Maciej Domek. Condolences from my uncle, Mr. Vincent Piola as well, who loved Jane like a sister. 

My deepest sympathies to all Jane's family on her passing.

We will always remember the moments we spent together with Jane in Calabria and in New York, even if they were few, they were enough to discover a generous, smiling, hospitable person with great fortitude. She was proud of her education at Saint Vincent Ferrer and Dominican Academy.  She is now enjoying God's presence.  May she rest in peace.

So sorry to hear about Jane’s death!  I will miss her during my weekly visits to Isle of Capri.  

Getting to know Jane over the past several years has been such a pleasure. Her warmth, vibrant personality and generosity went far beyond her hospitality.  She was a connection for me to my roots as our parents were of the same town in Calabria, called Pentone.  There is something about being from the same soil that permeates a person's soul. Perhaps it's why sitting and enjoying a meal at the Isle and having Jane come over to your table to have a glass of wine with you, felt like sitting at the family dining table. I once told her that even the meatballs tasted like my Mom's! Jane, you will be missed, but your love and spirit will continue to shine through your beautiful family and your throughout your legacy. Rest in eternal peace.

Da sempre speravo di poterti rivedere ancora una volta. Conserverò di te il ricordo di una persona dolce, buona, sempre sorridente ma forte e coraggiosa nei tanti momenti difficili della tua vita. Penso adesso a quando sono venuta a NY e insieme abbiamo cercato di arrivare alla Statua della Libertà. Sapevamo che era difficile, zia Maria non   riusciva a stare più di qualche minuto senza di te. Eravamo vicine alla meta ma hai ricevuto una sua chiamata e siamo tornate indietro. Poco male, l'importante era stare insieme, quello era il motivo del mio viaggio. Ti porterò sempre nel mio cuore. Un abbraccio a voi  figli che avete perso un tesoro di mamma e ai nipoti tutti. Vi voglio bene.

Jane ha lasciato a tutti noi il suo esempio di dolcezza, bontà e generosità. Si è impegnata molto per portare avanti la famiglia e le attività create da zio Vincenzo e zia Maria. Ricorderemo sempre il suo sorriso e la sua gioia quando ha potuto portare i suoi figli in Calabria per conoscere i parenti. La porteremo sempre nei nostri pensieri e nelle nostre preghiere. I am very grateful that our path crossed few years ago, and that we got to spend time together laughing, singing and sharing stories.

I will keep those memories in my heart forever, and I’ll keep singing those songs, laughing looking at our pictures together and making treasure of all I’ve learned from you.  

Jane Ann was a tremendous shining light! I will always remember how warm and welcoming she was to me every time I walked into the Isle. Her beautiful smile while she always asked if we “ate anything today”.  She will be missed by everyone she touched.

We are sadden by the news of the passing of Jane. Our condolences to Peter, Donna, Maria and the entire family. We will always think of Jane as the  most caring loving funny person you will ever meet when you walked into her restaurant. She would sit with us and talk about old times, mutual people we knew, and her family, all with her signature smile. Simultaneously, Jane kept her eye on the meal you were being served, the service, and the other patrons in the restaurant all with ease and grace. You felt like you were at Sunday dinner at grandma's house. Jane, we will miss you but remember you always!

My sincere condolences to the family. I had the wonderful privilege of meeting Jane and her daughters, Maria and Donna during my business trips to New York in 2015. Isle of Capri became a favorite restaurant of mine as I would return there every chance I had. Not only was the food great, the atmosphere, and the service was unlike anything I’d-experienced. She truly made her guest feel at home.  The memory that I have of mama was her wine glass at the service bar. She would take sips of it throughout the evening. My heart goes out to Maria and Donna & the rest of her family. Thank you  for some of my best  memories in NYC. May she rest in peace. 

So sorry to hear about Jane passing. Jane and her sister Gloria were icons in the restaurant business. Total different personalities but both unique in their own ways. I can only say as I was being raised in an Italian household with many family members around for Sunday dinners and holidays, it always reminded me of those moments when I dined at the Isle of Capri. From Angelo's face full of expressions when Aunt Glo was sending out pleasantries', to the private lunches in the back parlor drinking white and red wine, parmigiana cheese and olives, to Jane coming around the corner with her paperwork in hand smiling from ear to ear to say hello to all of us.  Then her two beautiful daughters Donna & Maria always smiling as well, they would take time to sit and chat and generally just ask how our day was going. It was a great experience all around, Jane will be surely missed. God Bless to all,

Every memory , moment and conversation with aunt Jane was a blessing. She was filled with good energy , a big heart and surrounded  by light. Thankyou for your kindness. You were special , loved and continue to be appreciated . Rest In Peace to a beautiful person that we will never forget .

Jane and I were childhood best friends. We would walk home from grammar school to watch the Mickey Mouse club show, dressed up at Halloween & and went seeking celebrity autographs, in the neighborhood, as young girls. My mother and I used to shop in Jane’s grandfathers delicatessen, the old world loving, caring spirit that Jane’s family epitomized was truly passed on to her and her sister Gloria. 

When the Isle of Capri was newly opened, we were fortunate to have our 8th grade graduation party there.  Many years later, Jane was a moving force in helping to keep Our Lady of Peace Church open, when in 2015 it was shuttered. She generously  extended the use of the Isle of Capri for fund raising & provided food for the rallies, always ready to extend a helping hand. Truly a humble spirit that never looked for recognition, only wanting to please.

 At my age I tend to reflect more on the old days. It was always such a delight to meet Jane to laugh & reminisce  of our youth. It is difficult to accept that she is no longer with us, her big smile & loving spirit will live on forever in my heart.  Servanda  Sanchez Toner





Jane made NYC a better place to live, work and dine. Her incredible warmth,  unsurpassed generosity and kindness will be forever missed.  She was a bright spot in the lives of our entire family for three generations.  She was adored by our parents, us and our children. Her glorious spirit will forever remain in our hearts and minds.
May her beautiful memory be a blessing and bring comfort and peace
to her family and everyone she loved.   

Jane touched so many with her beautiful smile and genuine goodness. 

Always making sure everyone was well taken care of and constantly trying to please everyone. 

She used to repeat everything two and three times to make sure things were done right !  
Her standards were high. 

A true lady who put others before herself. She has my utmost  love and respect and I will miss her terribly.
