Lloyd deMause, a giant intellectual power, has had a profound influence on my work as a career and life design professional. His understanding of the role of abuse of power by parents and other authorities has on crippling the self-esteem of people and the resultant dwarfing of human potential has informed the core of my life's work. We met and worked in tandem with others in the late 1970's. I delighted in kidding him about introducing him to a colleague, Peter deKadt.....a meeting of deMause and deKadt. Lloyd's passing is a huge loss but his legacy is profound and we are carrying on his approach in China and Southeast Asia.

Your beloved LlOYD DEMAUSE has accomplished his humane mission on the planet and has given us the hidden knowledge that we spread further. He reminded us that the new ethic is based on love and knowledge for children and the infirm.
I am grateful to him for his help in my writing and learning since 2010, as well as for his advice and understanding.
The great and brave LLOYD DEMAUSE who tried to change the world. With endless respect, Vuksan Vuksanovic (Montenegro, Europe).

Lloyd was my guide and teacher when I began serious studies in psychohistory. My first contact with the psychohistorical community was the result of an invitation from Lloyd to attend the annual conference in New York. Lloyd has exerted a profound influence on my own theories and practice. I will never forget him, and I send my deepest condolences to his family.

Although we never met in person I corresponded with Mr. Demause many times beginning way back in 2006 when I discovered the Journal of Psychohistory. He was and still is and inspiration to me. His work changed my life and thinking beyond measure. I’m deeply saddened by his passing. The world has lost a great thinker and person.
My hope is that others will continue his work not just In the field of Psychohistory but also in the field of life. In the kind of person they should inspire to be. What Lloyd termed the “Helping Mode” personality. My sincere condolences to all his family, friends, colleagues and the members of the Psychohistory community. He will be missed!

Llyod has been an inspirational figure for my professional life as a therapist as well as a private person since our very first meeting many decades ago. He helped me to understand history far better and he added radical new perspectives in my professinal life. Moreover he also was kind and generous eager to share his ideas and insights. Though we have lost touch with each other I deeply deplore his loss for our community. But he will always be remembered as a great and influental person.
