Born in Brooklyn, New York on April 22, 1927, Louis was the oldest son of Pasquale & Anna Cangiano. He was an entrepreneur from age 9 when his father passed. He helped his mother operate Cangiano’s pork store in Brooklyn and helped raise his 6 younger siblings. As an adult, he built his own businesses, Cangiano’s Italian Salumeria on Avenue U in Brooklyn and his flagship store on Hylan Boulevard in Staten Island. He was a creative mind and mentored many throughout his life. He was always full of energy and ideas until the very end of his life. His main love was his family and friends. He was an amazing husband, father, brother, and friend. His caring and positive attitude was infectious as was his love of life! He truly smelled the Roses! Louis is survived by the love of his life, his wife Saveria of 71 years, his four children, Pasquale, Stefanie, Louis & Maria, his children by marriage Marilyn, Lauren & Brendan, his ten adoring grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. His sisters Jennie, Angie and his brother Dominick & sister by marriage Antoinette. He was pre-deceased by his brothers Frank, Cosimo and Pasquale. We celebrate Louis Cangiano’s wonderful life on July 23, 2022 with a funeral Mass at Saint Ignatius Loyola R.C. Church at 11:00am.
