Born Feb. 24, 1939 in Chicago to Joseph M. Leahy and Elizabeth Keefe Leahy. Graduate of Georgetown and the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism. Army Intelligence lieutenant. Editor on various desks of The Times; assistant to the Metropolitan Editor, editor of the Travel, Arts and Leisure and Real Estate sections. Member of the Century Association.
Survived by his beloved wife of more than 54 years, Harriet Friday Leahy, retired attorney (Dewey Ballantine; Milbank Tweed) and Senior V.P. of U.S. Trust Co., and their children and grandchildren: Christine Elizabeth (Johnny Chan), Siobhan, Aoife and Cian; Thomas Joseph (Devon), Sloane and Logan; Christopher Michael (Diana).
